If the T-step was an aesthetic, she would be giving cool girl, no makeup makeup vibes. She doesn't try too hard, she just IS that girl. All though behind her chill exterior, there's a lot going on.

Because this move is so foundational, there's a lot of nuances that make this move either goofy AF or squeaky clean (all of which I talk about in this tutorial).
Upper body control
Transitioning direction w/ either the running man or t-step
How and where to place your foot
Implementing a microbounce
Arm movements
A little history on Melbourne shuffling:
Shuffling started in Melbourne, Australia around the 90s and was characterized by moves like the t-step ( this was the original shuffle move, not the running man which was added later). Shufflers were often called rockers which came from the term “rocking out” which meant (more of less) jamming out/having a time. I have previously talked about rocking as an 8-count t-step pattern, and while I think that maybe the term has evolved to mean this in present day, I wanted to discuss the history behind where the term came from.
p.s. I started a NEW YOUTUBE CHANNEL. Fully dedicated to all things shuffling, so be sure to subscribe to the new channel, cuz I have lots of new things coming your way!
